Life Skills for Dogs
Positive Reinforcement Dog Training in Greater New Haven, CTLife Skills
Creating Polite Pooches
Training goes way beyond puppyhood! Whether you want Fido to stop pulling on the leash, jumping on guests or to come when called, we’re here to help.
How It Works
Our trainer will come to you work on behaviors with you and your pup directly. Lessons will be based on the training goals discussed at your consult!
After each session, our team will send you a writeup of everything we discussed so you have it to look over as you work with your pup. We will also outline some exercises to work on before your next session!
Who It's For
Our Life Skills Programs are meant intended for dogs that are 6 months or older. If you have a younger puppy, check our our puppy training or get in touch and we can customize the perfect program for your goals!
What Your Dog Will Learn
Our Life Skills Programs always begin with a consultation. This will allow us time to get to know you, your dog and what your training goals are. The program will be tailored to fit your goals.
All learning in all of our training programs is done via positive reinforcement. This means your dog will be rewarded for the correct and response and mistakes will simply be ignored. We will not use force, prong collars, choke collars or e-collars on your dog – guaranteed.
What's Included
Each Life Skills Program includes the agreed upon number of sessions. The exact number will depend on your dog, your training goals and your budget.
All programs include a clicker and a treat bag. Additional clickers, treat bags and our favorite training harnesses are available for purchase here.
Thorough write ups and resources will be provided for you after each session!

Consultations
Every dog and family is different and training programs are not “one-size-fits-all!” A consultation will allow your trainer to meet your family and your pup. We will discuss your goals and introduce you to positive reinforcement training!
Day Training
Leave the hardest work to us! We will work with your dog multiple times a week, one-on one! Our included weekly Pet Parent Sessions will provide you with the knowledge and skills to tap into, utilize and reinforce your dogs’ newly learned behaviors.
Group Classes
Group classes are an affordable way to work with your dog or puppy in a group setting under professional guidance. Classes are a great way to expose your dog to new environments and will teach you both how to work around distractions!
