Our Story

Upon the passing of my mother when I was in college, moving out of state for vet school was no longer an option as I knew my home was here in CT with my younger siblings. I took a job that appealed to my interests and education but I lacked passion in the office setting and was bored and anxious for a position with more purpose.

As an Animal Science graduate, a shelter volunteer, an equestrian, a former zoo employee and the family’s resident “Dog Mom,” family and friends would constantly come to me with questions, nails that needed to be trimmed, harness and training recommendations and requests for pet sitting. Working with animals and helping their owners keep them safe, happy and healthy via education and experience was my calling.

Naturally, when I met Tammy Hennessey at Country Pup Pet Sitting and was offered to join her team of professional pet sitters in 2016, I jumped at the opportunity. This was my introduction to the pet professional industry and my first taste as a business owner. I quickly became the company’s Assistant Manager and Senior Sitter and loved every minute – the puppy breath, the tail wags, the shy cat finally rubbing against my legs, the joy clients would emit when they came home to happy, healthy pets…

In May 2018, I moved to Waterbury and moved out of Country Pup’s service area but I knew this wasn’t the end – I was just getting started. With the support of Tammy, I opened RCO Pet Care (Rocco and Company Pet Care… named after own beloved pack). We unofficially opened our doors in August and registered as an LLC in December and we have been growing like a weed ever since! In April 2019, I acquired Country Pup Pet Sitting upon Tammy’s move out of state and have since merged the company and its service area into RCO.

Our mission is to provide each client and pet with extraordinary service and care to ensure a stress-free pet care experience. We are so grateful for our community’s support and that so many wonderful people trust us to care for their most precious companions. We can’t wait to see where this journey takes us and plan on only expanding on the gold standard of care we have set for pet care in this area. Thanks for choosing RCO!
