Our Story
I knew I had to reassess my dreams of attending veterinary school upon the passing of my mother when I was in college. Moving out of state for 4 years was no longer an option as I knew my home was here in CT with my younger siblings. I took a job that appealed to my education but I lacked passion in the office setting.
As an Animal Science graduate, a shelter volunteer, an equestrian, a former zoo employee and the family’s resident “Dog Mom,” family and friends would come to me with nails that needed to be trimmed, harness and training recommendations and requests for pet sitting. Working with animals and helping their owners keep them safe, happy and healthy via education and experience was my calling.
I officially opened RCO Pet Care (Rocco and Company Pet Care… named after own beloved pack) in December of 2018. In April of 2019, I acquired Country Pup Pet Sitting upon my beloved mentor and former employer moving out of state and have since merged that business and its service area into RCO.
I began offering dog training services through RCO in 2021. This portion of the business grew so much we are opening our own facility in Oxford’s Quarry Walk in Fall 2023!
I am so grateful for our community’s support and that so many wonderful people trust us to care for their most precious companions. My team and I can’t wait to see where this journey takes us and plan on only expanding on the gold standard we have set for pet care in our community. Thanks for choosing RCO!
