On Saturday, May 18th, Jessica, Joe and Rocco hit the road to take RCO to the 2019 Naugatuck Spring Festival. We had a blast and were so happy to meet so many amazing pet parents in our community!
The festival takes place once per season on Church Street. Food trucks, local businesses, live bands and more took over the either side of the road while attendees danced in the street, had lots of laughs and ate all kinds of festival food!
The event is dog friendly so we had many happy pooches stop by our table for some free treats and lots of love! We raffled off a free basket of dog toys, treats and accessories. Luna helped me pull the winning ticket the next day – congrats Ryan Kinne on your win!
Rocco was sure to show off his “special” skills such as howling on command, giving high-fives and eating a treat whenever there was one offered! He was the perfect mascot, as always!
We were very happy to find our booth was next to our friends at Animals for Life – a cat rescue out of Naugatuck. Be sure to check them out if you have not already! All funds raised by Animals for Life go directly back to the shelter and the cats in their care.
We also ran into our friends from the Naugatuck Dog Park! The Naugatuck Dog Park is a fully fenced off-leash park on Andrew Mountain Road. It is surrounded by trails for on-leash walking as well as a beautiful community garden. Funds raised by the dog park group go to improving the park for dogs and their people alike.
Overall, we had an incredible day talking about the benefits of in-home pet sitting, midday dog walks, booking Meet and Greets and sharing rescue stories with many of our new friends! We can’t wait for the next Naugatuck Spring Festival and can’t wait to see you there!
